Frequently Asked Questions:
Delivery & Ordering Related
Signed up to a Veg box subscription and would like to add other bits to this week's order?
Our website has a minimum order charge of £20, please send us an email with the items or ask for a free delivery code and put your order through online as usual.
How long will my order take? (Courier Delivery)
We aim to ship online orders on the next business day, with next day courier delivery (approx. 2-3 days delivery from order).
If you are ordering ahead please let us know when you would like delivery and we can ship accordingly.
How much is delivery?
We charge a flat £2.50 fee for most Bristol postcodes and slightly more for addresses further away. Shipping fees for courier orders will be calculated based on total order weight.
I might not be home for delivery?
We can leave deliveries in a safe place or with a neighbour (please let us know on check-out). We do not take liability for lost goods once delivery has taken place.
Can I order for a friend or loved one?
Of course! We can include a handwritten message for the recipient, just let us know.
Do you observe best social distancing practices?
When delivering to residential addresses we will leave your produce on your doorstep, knock/ring the door bell and stand back at least two metres. When delivering to blocks of flats face masks are worn by our delivery drivers and hand sanitiser is used both before and after delivery. We observe best social distancing practices with all elements of running the business to reduce the risk of any of our team catching COVID-19.
Our produce comes from the local area, direct from local farmers, suppliers and independent businesses. We try to keep everything on our website as locally sourced as possible and in nearly all cases from within the South West. With items from further afield we use the next best, have a look at our Mr. Organic pastas and tinned range.
We carefully choose which partners we work with to make sure that we share the same values. We're partisans of produce in trying to change the supermarket shop to a more sustainable local shopping approach.
We've partnered up with Carbonclick to provide carbon offsetting. These offsets reduce the environmental impact of carbon emissions. CarbonClick’s offsets fund forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects around the world.
CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When you click it, a small contribution is added to your basket.
We’ll be making our own contributions, and changing our practices to reduce our carbon footprint and are proud to be part of the fight against climate change.
Chew Valley Dairy / New Manor Farm Shop have been organically farming for over 30 years. They are also one of the few farms in the UK to process their farm by-products into clean low carbon energy which not only powers the farm, but homes in the neighbouring area!
Harts Seafood products are predominantly sourced from local day boats this means that they come from smaller, more sustainable and better cared for catches.
Nuts and allergies
We store various packaged products which contain nuts and some of suppliers do work with nuts so cannot guarantee cross contamination. We try to list as much product information as possible on our website; if you have allergies please always consult the product packaging or the manufacturers website for further information.
Deliveries are made in repurposed fruit & veg boxes. These can be kept or returned for us to recycle. We do our best to not use plastic packaging unless unavoidable.
Ordering & Payment
Online store orders are processed with Shopify Payments or Paypal. These are encrypted and PCI compliant.
We can also take cash/card on delivery by prior arrangement.
